Pay Your Mortgage with HUD Emergency Homeowners' Loan Program

Lost job and need to pay your mortgage? Don't worry. You can seek help from The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Emergency Homeowners' Loan Program, which is designed to provide mortgage assistance to the unemployed person in Puerto Rico and the 32 states.

With the Emergency Homeowner Loan Program, you will receive a zero interest, forgivable bridge loan to pay certain arrearages as well as ongoing monthly assistance to help you to make your monthly first lien mortgage payments. The assistance is limited to a maximum duration of 24 months, or up to a maximum loan amount of $50,000.

  1. If I were unemployed, I would definitely take advantage of this and several other ways to lower my monthly expenses. There are several out there, it just takes some creative research.
